Pleasanton Computer Repair is a family-owned business providing at-home and business technology solutions to the Pleasanton area since 2002. Our clients consist of mainly of home users, as well as home offices, and even businesses with 1-25 employees. Our retail office is conveniently located for computer (PC & Apple Macs desktops & laptops) drop-offs and pickups in Pleasanton. It’s only a short distance off highway 680. Plus, we have a mobile service workforce throughout the Bay Area.

  •   Working with Pleasanton Computer Repair was great! I took my work laptop in with a partially cracked screen. Roughly 1/2 of the screen was still visible/useable when I dropped it off. The replacement screen seems to work perfectly.

    Karla, Gabe, and Ryan were all friendly, professional, and provided 5-star service. Once they had the replacement screen in stock*, I feel like they made a great effort to keep their turnaround time as fast as possible and I only had to take a couple hours off work while they did the repairs (dropped off at 5PM Tues, picked up at 9:30AM the next day). Lastly, I find the online ticket system they use clean and helpful. If I have computer issues in the future, this shop will be my go-to.

    *Note: This is NOT a complaint, but I do see one (1) small opportunity for improvement in hindsight: I wish they had made more of an effort to confirm beforehand what model of replacement screen was needed for my laptop so they could check if they had the replacement screen in stock. During the quote process and before I dropped the laptop off the first time, I was advised that they would have to physically take the laptop apart to confirm what model of replacement screen was needed and therefore confirm if they had the replacement part in-stock or would need to order it. "Ok, no biggie. If that's how it is, that's how it is," I thought. However, after dropping it off, I was advised that since the laptop screen was not fully cracked through, they could confirm the screen model without taking it apart by logging into the laptop to confirm the resolution info.

    I gave them my login info, they checked, and it turned out that they didn't have the required replacement screen in stock and had to order it. This wasn't a big deal, but required me to make a couple extra trips to their shop (extra drop off, extra pick-up) so I could use my laptop while the replacement part was on order. I feel like the two extra trips could have been avoided by asking me to log in from home and confirm the resolution info they needed in advance. With presumably varying degrees of tech-savviness among their customers, it may be they don't normally ask us to do that kind of stuff, but saving the extra trips would have been a nice touch. Again, this isn't a complaint or even enough to knock this down to a 4-star review, just some possible room for improvement, in my opinion.

      Withdrawing my very positive review of Dec 5.  HP computer was hacked again in a few days.  Whatever they did it did not protect in the future days.  Had it repaired by a private party who installed protection software and has not been hacked in 3 weeks

  •   Great service. My 7-year-old laptop finally kicked the bucket for good after many near-death experiences. I decided to get a new laptop but save the old hard drive. I asked Pleasanton Computer Repair if they could first check the hard drive to make sure there were no physical/electrical issues and the data was uncorrupted, and if the hard drive was fine, just move it into an external case for me. If the data was corrupted, I requested that they attempt to recover it. Brought the laptop in, got an email 2 days later that it was ready to pick up. Data was fine, hard drive was in an external case, brought it home & plugged it into my new computer and it worked just fine. Very reasonable price, did not try to add unnecessary charges, friendly, fast, and effective. Highly recommended.

    SUMMARY: fast, affordable, effective, honest. Great repair shop.

  •   My old HP laptop finally died and it flashed the famed BLUE SCREEN of DEATH before its final breath, it also had issues with the hinges. I called and made an appointment to take it in, upon arrival I was told the cost to repair if possible would be high, but it seemed as though my hard drive was fried beyond recovery (7%) along with the cosmetic issues it was a hot mess. I left feeling pretty bad as 7 years worth of files etc were effected. A few hours later KC called and said they would try to recover but no promises, well they were able to save everything for a reasonable price and it only took 2 or 3 days. I bought a new laptop dropped it by the shop, they transfered all my files, set everything up for me, done. I couldn't be happier. A couple weeks later I had a glitch with my Microsoft 365, called and again KC handled it, he straightened it over the phone and now I'm up and running full speed ahead!! Professionals! Thank you guys!! 5 STARS!!!

      I had my laptop die on me, and I was able to drop it off and and it fixed quickly and picked up two days later. Affordable prices, and great work with fast and easy communication. I highly recommend!

  •   Despite a few issues they were very quick and getting my computer fixed and compensating me for the trouble. I appreciate their patience even when I lost mine. They are a great group of individuals and I would recommend them to anyone who is having computer troubles and cannot afford to buy a brand new laptop.

      Took a chance on this business to assess a non-responsive keyboard problem. I was considering chucking my laptop but wanted to see if it was worth saving. I don't know if these guys have "magic IT dust", but they were quick to let me know they couldn't replicate the problem. Two techs took a shot at it and both reported there were no issues. I like their online ticketing system as that was our primary mode of communication. But what impressed me is that they didn't try to bilk me out of more money than necessary and just charged the diagnostic fee. They even assured me nothing was wrong and if I found otherwise, they invited me to come back and have another go at it. Very professional, timely, and no complaints.
